Amelie's Walk

2 more days until her Birthday. No party preparations, birthday cake, colorful pink baloons and gifts. No little toddler running around ready to turn 1. Nothing. Just us. A family with an empty and broken heart, missing their little girl. What could we do? We walked. We planned Amelie's Walk. 18 members of our family, young and old. On 5 different continents, contries and timezones. Walked somewhere beautiful, in nature, for one special little girl. Our gift to her, was to be together as a family. (Which was really her gift to us). We believe she had brought our family together, her short life strengthened relationships and made people better versions of themselves. We reflected and remembered. My little Angel, the 19 year old baby who we wanted to live so badly, who fought so hard to live. Who changed our world. Who is no longer here, yet not gone or forgotten and very much living within us every single day. So loved, so missed. This is how we spent today.
East Coast Amelie's Walk as part of an event for March Of Dimes attended by our wonderful family;
(Elaina, Dave, John & Will and Fred & Joanne - Amelie's Grandparents)
